Halina McCormack has lived on Staten Island since 1980. Born and educated in Poland, her first studies were at the High School of Art, and she earned the MFA degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, with a major in Conservation of Painting and Polychromed Sculpture. She is an art conservator in private practice and has been the painting conservator at the Hispanic Society of America, New York, since 1988. An active artist, she participated in group shows at the World Trade Center, National Arts Club, McCormack Gallery in NYC, Art by the Ferry, and in her native Poland.
