Will Van Dorp has been documenting commercial vessels in New York Harbor, which he refers to as the "sixth boro," for almost 10 years and publishes his photographs and writing in a blog called Tugster: A Waterblog, featured in the New York Times in 2011. He is a photojournalist for Professional Mariner, and his photographs have appeared in Hudson Valley Magazine and Towline. He wrote and directed Graves of Arthur Kill, a documentary film showcasing vessels in the marine scrap yard near Rossville, Staten Island. Van Dorp received the M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Indiana University and the MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Vermont College. He is an Associate Professor at Union County College in Elizabeth, NJ, where he has worked since 2003. tugster.wordpress.com
