The museum's location is historic Snug Harbor, a former mariner's dormitory. Snug Harbor overlooks the Kill van Kull, one of the world's busiest waterways. We have transformed the sailors' rooms into inspiring classrooms, furnished with art, maps, and artifacts. Activities range form dramatic storytelling, singing, drawing, printmaking, and painting to creative writing and boat tours. Lessons can be adapted for special education, early childhood, and after school groups. Every leader will receive a classroom activity package to prepare their students for their visit. Programs can be adapted to meet the needs of Special Education classes. LUNCH SPACE IS AVAILABLE. HISTORY and LOCAL LORE
