Bill Murphy is a painter and printmaker based on Staten Island, New York. He was educated at the School of Visual Arts (BFA), Vermont College (MFA), and the Art Students League, and has worked in multiple mediums, including printmaking, painting, and drawing. Murphy has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and has participated in many national juried exhibitions. His work has been exhibited at the National Academy of Design, New York Historical Society, the Old Print Shop Gallery (NYC), Susan Teller Gallery (NYC), and at Syracuse University. His work is included in the collections of the British Museum, the Library of Congress, the Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library, the Newark Public Library, the Denver Art Museum, the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and the New York Transit Museum. Murphy taught at Wagner College on Staten Island for 36 years until his retirement in 2020.
