Joop Vegter (1931-2017) was a professional Dutch artist whose work often appears at auctions worldwide.  He was a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amersfoort in the Netherlands where he started the graphic arts department, with the intention of teaching his students all graphic techniques.  Vegter went on to become a master of the mezzotint, particularly in color.  His work is included in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
