Kristi Pfister is a painter who works with a broad range of materials on a variety of surfaces. As a public artist, she has created numerous wall murals and mosaics. Funders include New York City Percent for Art, MTA Arts for Transit, and the Staten Island Zoo. Pfister’s recent solo shows were Columns and Caryatids in 2018 and Leave No Trace in 2021. She was also included in Arc of Twenty Years, an independent exhibition hosted at the Noble Maritime Collection. Currently, her work can be viewed at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art’s exhibition Don’t Shut Up. The atmospheric watercolor in this year’s auction is from her new series, Road and Sky, inspired by a 5,000-mile road trip through the American West this past summer.
