CASA 2023 Project and Unveiling

Fifth-grade students at PS 373 unveiled the permanent mural that took them three months to create! The mural, called Vintage Postcard, is the product of a Cultural After-School Adventures (CASA) partnership between the Noble Maritime Collection and PS 373 at 91 Henderson Avenue, supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the New York City Council and District 49 Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks. Vintage Postcard was conceptualized by PS373R’s Arts Education Liaison and Visual Arts Educator Elena Seminara. Teaching artist Mona Oman worked with the students on weekly trips to the school to create the mural that depicts the local waterfront and features the John A. Noble ferry boat, Robbins Reef Lighthouse, and the Statue of Liberty.
