Historian Patricia Salmon returns to the museum to present Powerful Women of Staten Island's Past in honor of Women's History Month. In this lecture and slideshow presentation, Pat will discuss the contributions of several amazing women who have impacted Staten Island and beyond. Many of these women encountered challenges, yet persevered to accomplish their goals. Such influential personalities as Kate Walker, Alice Austen, Mary Jane O’Donovan-Rossa, Elizabeth Gertrude Britton, Dorothy Day, Lois Mosely, Audre Lorde, Catherine “Mac” O’Callaghan, and others will be featured.
