Join us on Sunday, July 10 at 7 PM for a special airing of Mind the Light, a reimagining of the lighthouse keeper Kate Walker, presented in collaboration with Staten Island Shakespearean Company and the Women's Playwright Collective, written by Ariel Marcus-Hollenbeck. In 1883, the current cast-iron structure of Robbins Reef Lighthouse replaced the original granite lighthouse built in 1839. The rebuilding was an upgrade, complete with a brand new flashing light that was lit for the first time on July 10, 1883. To commemorate the 139th anniversary of that event, we are sharing this performance for one night only.
The play was filmed at the museum this past April during a weekend of live performances. If you missed seeing it in person, you will not want to miss this viewing.
This program is part of our NOW virtual lecture series. It will premiere on Facebook or here on the website. No registration is required.
