Lillian Chestney (1913-2000) was an American illustrator and painter.  Born in New York City, Chestney studied at Pratt Institute on an art scholarship and at the Art Students League.  She is primarily recognized as an illustrator for Classic Comics, including for a comic book based on Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels and Arabian Nights, based on a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales.  She also illustrated book covers and advertisements for magazines.  Later in her life, she turned to painting, particularly of scenes she spotted in her travels.
