Linda Butti is an artist and art professor native to Brooklyn, New York. She earned her MFA from Brooklyn College in 1975 and has continuously made and exhibited art since then. Throughout her career as a painter she has had thirty solo shows in the NYC metropolitan area, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including her first juried show in 1977, for which she was selected by the Brooklyn Museum. Her work is included in thirty-eight corporate and public collections, including the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center, St Patrick’s Cathedral, the Kuppenhiemer Corporation, Sterling Drug, and Brenau University Collection of American Art. In addition to her exhibitions and various awards received from them, she has been recognized in her endeavors as an artist and educator with the awarding of seven NYSCA grants, one NYC Public works grant, and a NYC Artist Core Grant. As a Full Adjunct Professor of Art, Butti lectures in art history, teaches studio courses, and guest curates exhibitions, and was granted a Doctorate Equivalency in Art from City University of NY and St John’s University in 2005.
