Help Us Preserve Our Maritime Legacy — Your Gift Triples This Season

December 20, 2025 by Megan Beck

Dear friends,

As we approach the end of another meaningful year, we pause with gratitude for the community that sustains the Noble Maritime Collection.

Looking ahead, 2026 will mark a major milestone: the Noble Maritime Collection’s 40th anniversary. For four decades, the museum, which is dedicated to celebrating the working waterfront of New York Harbor, has served as a steward of Staten Island’s maritime heritage, a center for education and community gathering, and a place where art and history come together. As we prepare to celebrate this anniversary, we are also planning for the future — ensuring the museum remains strong, accessible, and inspiring for generations to come.

Thanks to your support this year, we welcomed over 15,000 visitors, educated nearly 4,000 young learners through hands-on and unique arts programs, and presented new, engaging exhibitions. In 2025, we proudly became a member of New York City’s Cultural Institutions Group (CIG), a significant change that ensures long-term support while keeping our admission policy pay-what-you-wish so all can enjoy our collections and programs.

This holiday season, we invite you to make a year-end contribution to the museum. Every gift you make now will go even further through a Diamond Matching Grant, an initiative of the Staten Island Foundation, where your donation is matched and multiplied — meaning your support will have three times the impact.

Your generosity helps us:

  • Care for our growing collection of maritime art and artifacts

  • Support educational programs that connect local students to maritime history and expand educational outreach

  • Develop and present new exhibitions and programs

  • Sustain free and low-cost programming for children and families

No matter the amount, your gift makes a difference. With the Diamond Matching Grant boosting your contribution, you are helping to ensure this museum remains a welcoming, vibrant space for generations to come.

Please give today and triple your impact before the year ends.

Warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a bright New Year,
Your friends at the Noble Maritime Collection
